LAS VEGAS â€" Danny Hultzen struggled for the second consecutive start as the Tacoma Rainiers lost to the Las Vegas 51s, 6-1, on Wednesday night.

Hultzen, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2011 amateur draft who is considered the Seattle Mariners’ top pitching prospect, allowed six hits and six runs, walked five and struck out three before being pulled after 2 innings.

In his previous start, Friday at Cheney Stadium against the 51s, Hultzen didn’t make it out of the first inning, walking four and allowing two hits and two runs while getting just two outs.

He is 1-4 with a 6.09 ERA for the Triple-A Rainiers. Hultzen was 8-3 with a 1.19 ERA for the Double-A Jackson Generals before being promoted June 20.

Carlos Triunfel had two hits for the Rainiers, who scored their run on Vinny Catricala’s RBI groundout.
