TUCSON, Ari. â" A two-run sixth inning helped the Tucson Padres defeat the Las Vegas 51s 7-5 Wednesday night.
Las Vegas took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a sacrifice grounder by Travis d'Arnaud.
The Padres roared back in the second inning, however, putting up five runs against the 51s on hits by Anthony Contreras, Sawyer Carroll and Blake Tekotte.
The 51s answered in the third inning when Travis Snider connected on a three-run home run to right field, making the score 5-4.
Tucson tied the game in the fourth inning on a bases loaded walk by Jonathan Diaz. The Padres added two runs in the sixth inning off a ground ball by Daniel Robertson and a throwing error by the 51s. The Padres held the 51s scoreless for the remainder of the game.
Tucson starter Colt Hynes won his third game of the season. Las Vegas reliever Clint Everts suffered the loss.
