Bennett to join UNLV Rebels - Brampton Guardian

A RUNNING REBEL:. Brampton's Anthony Bennett has agreed to attend the University of Nevada at Las Vegas this fall.

Anthony Bennett has made it official.
The highly recruited high school basketball star from Brampton has signed to attend the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV) beginning this fall.
The 6-foot-8 power forward was rated as the No. 7 high school prospect by both Rivals.com and ESPN and the No. 1 power forward. Bennett won’t be moving to far to join the Running Rebels, he currently attends high school at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada.
This season he averaged 16.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, helping Findlay Prep to a 32-1 record and the title of the National High School Invitational for the third time in four years. Bennett was the MVP of the NHSI.
A McDonald’s High School All-American, Bennett shot 62.6 per cent from the field during two seasons at Findlay, making 40 per cent of his three-point attempts and 70.6 per cent of his free throws.
Bennett also plays for the Brampton-based CIA Bounce club team. He will likely get his first game action with UNLV in Canada.
The Running Rebels will begin their season playing four games in Ottawa and Montreal, facing defending Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) champion Carleton on Aug. 18 and meet Ottawa the next night.
They will also have games in Montreal on Aug. 20 and Aug. 21 against opponents to be announced.
