Reno Aces Edge Las Vegas 51s 4-3 - KLAS-TV

RENO, Nev. â€" The Las Vegas 51s came up short on a ninth inning rally, falling to the Reno Aces 4-3 Tuesday night.

Neither team scored a run until the bottom of the fourth inning, when Reno catcher Ryan Budde singled on a line drive â€" scoring Cole Gillespie.

Las Vegas answered in the top of the sixth inning when Anthony Gose scored on a fielder's choice. Reno pulled ahead in the bottom of the sixth inning on a two-run homer by shortstop Taylor Harbin, giving the Aces a 3-1 lead.

The 51s added a run in the top of the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly by Mike McCoy to score Ricardo Nanita. The Aces used a sacrifice fly of their own to make the score 4-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Down by two runs, Las Vegas tried to tie the game in the ninth inning. David Cooper hit an RBI single to bring the game within one run, but the 51s failed to complete the rally.

51s starter Aaron Laffey lost his fourth game of the season. Reno starter Barry Enright improves to 3-1. Aces closer Jonathan Albaladejo earns his second save of the season.
