Las Vegas 51s Shut Out Salt Lake Bees 8-0 - KLAS-TV

LAS VEGAS â€" Aaron Laffey threw seven strong innings â€" allowing zero runs and two hits - as the Las Vegas 51s shut out the Salt Lake Bees 8-0 Sunday.

The 51s jumped ahead in the first inning on a two-run home run from first baseman David Cooper. Catcher Yan Gomes also connected on an RBI-double in the first inning.

Las Vegas added a fourth run in the third inning, when Gomes singled to left field, bringing in left fielder Moises Sierra for the score.

The 51s generated three more runs in the fourth inning when Cooper and outfielder Anthony Gose connected on home runs. An RBI-single in the eighth inning by second baseman Mike McCoy gave the 51s the 8-0 lead.

Laffey earned his first win of 2012. Salt Lake pitcher Trevor Bell suffered his fourth loss of the season.
