OKLAHOMA CITY â" The Las Vegas 51s came out on the short end of a pitchers duel Thursday, losing to the Oklahoma City Redhawks 1-0.
Redhawks starting pitcher Jordan Lyles allowed eight hits and zero runs in six innings of work. He struck out five batters and walked one.
51s starter Tim Redding also played well, allowing only four hits and striking out five batters in six innings. The one run he allowed was a home run to Redhawks third baseman Brett Wallace in the third inning.
Redding drops to 0-3 on the season. Lyles improves to 5-0. Redhawks closer Jose Valdez earned his sixth save of the season.
