TORONTO â€" Left-handed pitcher Aaron Laffey has been recalled by the Toronto Blue Jays from the Las Vegas 51s of the Pacific Coast League. Right-hander Chad Beck was optioned by the Blue Jays to make space for Laffey.
The 27-year-old Laffey has made nine starts for Las Vegas this season and is 2-5 with a 4.88 ERA.
Laffey was with Toronto from April 9-14 but did not appear in a game. He has a career record of 21-23 with one save and a 4.34 ERA in 126 games over parts of five seasons.
Beck returns to Las Vegas a day after being recalled to Toronto. He’s made 19 appearances with the 51s this season and is 1-0 with seven saves and a 1.31 ERA.
