Rainiers shut out by 51s - Kitsap Sun

The Tacoma Rainiers were held to three hits in a 5-0 shutout loss to the Las Vegas 51s at in Las Vegas in a Pacific Coast League baseball game Friday.

Las Vegas' pitchers â€" including starter Jesse Chavez â€" allowed just four Rainiers to reach base. Chavez held Tacoma hitless until Luis Rodriguez singled with one out in the sixth.

Chavez surrendered just two hits and struck out five in seven innings.

Rodriguez, Scott Savastano and Mike Carp each hit singles for the Rainiers.
