COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - The Las Vegas 51s crushed the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Friday night 14-0. The 51s connected with 18 hits during the game.
Las Vegas scored four runs in the third inning after Travis Snider connected on a grand slam. The 51s added seven more runs in the fourth inning. Anthony Gose and Ricardo Nanita each hit RBI doubles in the fourth.
Las Vegas starting pitcher Joel Carreno was masterful through five innings, allowing one hit and striking out eight batters.
Carreno earns his first win of the season. Colorado Springs starter Rob Scahill, who gave up ten earned runs, took the loss.
The two teams play again at 12:05pm Saturday.
