FOX5 Vegas - KVVUFree Rebels tickets offered for old cell phones - KVVU Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Runnin' Rebel fans can help the environment, the community and get their hands on a free pair of tickets for the Jan. 21 game all at once.

Rebel fans who recycle their old, unused cell phones at any participating Verizon Wireless store, will receive a complimentary pair of tickets to the UNLV vs. UNM men's basketball game.

It's all part of Verizon's "HopeLine" program, that turns old cell phones into support for victims of domestic violence.

The program also helps to protect the environment by discarding wireless phones in more eco-friendly ways.

Since the recycling program started in 2001, Verizon Wireless has distributed more than 106,000 phones with free wireless service for victims and survivors of domestic violence to use.

Verizon's also awarded more than $10 million in grants to domestic violence agencies and organizations across the country.

The company will only offer free Rebel tickets while supplies last.
