Las Vegas 51s hand Padres 6th consecutive defeat | Tucson Padres baseball - TucsonSentinel.com

Las Vegas hit three home runs in their 9-3 victory Tuesday night, handing the Tucson Padres their sixth straight defeat.

Tucson scored three times in the seventh inning to make the score 6-3, but the 51s added three late runs to seal the win. Adam Lind went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run and now has five extra base hits through the first two games of the series.

Tucson starter Bear Bay pitched five innings, allowing six runs, all earned, on nine hits. Miles Mikolas surrendered two runs in the bottom of the eighth, the first time a team had scored in Mikolas in his three outings since being optioned from San Diego. Las Vegas starter Brett Cecil, who was transferred from Double-A New Hampshire earlier in the day, didn't allow any runs through six, and ended up leaving after 6.2 innings with three runs against his line.

Jedd Gyorko went 2-for-4 for the T-Pads and is hitting .419 in June. Jesus Merchan, who was added to the T-Pads roster earlier in the day after the San Diego Padres signed him from the independent Atlantic League, picked up two hits in the loss. Daniel Robertson went 1-for-4 with a double in his return to the lineup. Robertson had been on the disabled list since June 2 with a strained tendon in his knee.

Tim Hagerty is the play-by-play announcer for the Tucson Padres.
