LAS VEGAS, Nev.â€"After rallying in the ninth to force extra innings Saturday night, the Reno Aces lost it in the 10th, issuing a bases-loaded walk that gave the Las Vegas 51s a 6-5 victory in the series opener at Cashman Field.

The Aces saw a seventh-inning lead slip away Saturday, only to push across a run in the ninth to send the game to extra innings. After Reno went quietly in the 10th, a base hit and two walks by Aces reliever Taylor Sinclair loaded the bases for Las Vegas’ Jonathan Diaz in the home half of the frame. Sinclair would go on to issue a free pass to Diaz, chasing home the game-winning run and halting a five-game Aces winning streak.

Sinclair (0-1) took the loss out of the Aces bullpen, allowing a run on two hits with three walks over 1.1 frames. Reno starter Trevor Bauer delivered a quality start, allowing three runs on nine hits with seven strikeouts over six innings, but did not figure into the decision.

The win went to Las Vegas’ Evan Crawford (1-0), who came on in the tenth and recorded the final two outs of the inning. Las Vegas starter Aaron Laffey scattered four runsâ€"two earnedâ€"on nine hits over seven innings of work.

At the plate for Reno, Adam Eaton led-off the game with a home run and picked-up three hits. Ryan Wheeler and Randy Ruiz doubled, and Taylor Harbin had two hits and scored two runs.

The series continues with a Sunday matinee at Cashman Field. RHP Joe Martinez (3-3, 5.40 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while RHP Yohan Pino (0-1, 13.50 ERA) counters for Las Vegas. First pitch is set for 12:05 p.m. PT.
