Las Vegas took advantage of a RedHawks error in the ninth inning to tie the game Wednesday afternoon and then scored another run in the 10th for a 2-1 victory over Oklahoma City at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
With a runner on first and one out in the ninth, a botched pickoff attempt by RedHawks pitcher Xavier Cedeno let Adeiny Hechavarria move up to third base. A sacrifice fly by Travis Snider tied the game.
In the 10th, the RedHawks committed two more errors, and the go-ahead run scored a fielder's choice.
ON THE MOUND
Former OSU pitcher Scott Richmond got the start for the 51s, allowing just one run over seven innings. He gave up just three hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Former Tulsa Kelley standout Dallas Keuchel started for the RedHawks, pitching 7 1/3 scoreless innings and allowing just four hits with no walks and five strikeouts.
Las Vegas' Jerry Gil earned the win, pitching two scoreless innings of relief, while Oklahoma City's Jose Valdez took the loss.
AT THE PLATE
Fernando Martinez hit a home run in the seventh to account for the RedHawks' only run.
EXTRA BASES
The loss marked the seventh straight for the RedHawks -- their longest losing streak since August 2007. ... OKC was held to a season-low three hits Wednesday.
