ANCHORAGE, Ala. - The Las Vegas Wranglers punched their ticket for the Kelly Cup Finals Wednesday night with a 3-1 win over the Alaska Aces. The win gave the Wranglers the 4-1 series victory and the Western Conference Championship.
The Aces scored first in the first period on a power play goal by forward Dan Kissel. Las Vegas responded in the first period on a power play goal by center Eric Lampe to tie the game.
The Wranglers took the lead a few minutes later on a goal by center Judd Blackwater. Las Vegas' defense prevented the Aces from scoring any more goals. Las Vegas left wing Josh Lunden added an insurance goal in the third period.
Las Vegas awaits the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Florida Everblades and the Kalamazoo Wings.
