Attention UNLV basketball fans: Here’s your chance to get a tour of the Rebels’ new state-of-the-art practice facility.

The Mendenhall Center will be open 1 p.m. to 3 Jan. 28 for a free public tour, giving fans a look at the three-level, 38,000 square foot facility.

The facility, which is located on the UNLV campus, adjacent to the Cox Pavilion and the Thomas & Mack Center, includes two basketball courts, an academic area and film room, locker rooms, athletic training, strength and conditioning, and equipment areas.

The $11.7 million building was privately funded led primarily by donor Bob Mendenhall, and Maury Gallagher, Bill Paulos, Bill Wortman and Hope Anstett.

At 4 p.m. next Thursday, there will be an invitation-only dedication of the facility. That will be followed by the Governor’s BBQ at 5:30 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion. Tickets for the dinner, which includes Gov. Brian Sandavol and UNLV President Neal Smatresk, are $100. Greg Anthony, the starting point guard on the Rebels’ 1990 national championship team, will be the keynote speaker.
